November 9th, 2015 in the framework of the official visit of the delegation executives of the education system of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Education and Science Fattakhov Engel Navapovich visited Branch of JSC "National center for professional development “Orleu" in Astana. Chairman of the JSC “NCPD "Orleu" Akhmetova Gulnas Kenzhetaevna and director of branch in Astana Sainova Lyudmilla Alexandrovna acquainted the guests with the history of "Orleu", its activities and innovative areas of modern professional development system in Kazakhstan.
A biology teacher Dyakina E.V. entered the top ten of the best teachers the Republic of Kazakhstan
A biology teacher of school № 69 Elena Dyakina studying English and participating in the project CLIL (method of integrated teaching of language and subject) of Almaty city professional development institute entered the top ten of the best teachers of Kazakhstan on the TEA competition program of the US Embassy. She is currently enrolled in the two-month training courses at the University of Montana. The course program includes the study of global trends generally accepted of teaching methods, general pedagogy, and emphasizes the use of information and communication technologies in the educational process.
The branch office of "NCPD" Orleu" in Almaty city received a grant from RELO
The branch office of "NCPD" Orleu" in Almaty city received a grant from the Regional English Language Office for a teacher from the US University to visit Almaty to conduct seminars and training courses for English teachers. A pilot course on the introduction of innovative methods of teaching English in secondary schools and high schools was held from August 3 to 10. Former lecturer at the University of Michigan, author of textbooks Nancy Aklis, PhD, who currently works at the Department of Education of the US government, discussed with the students the peculiarities of the development of critical thinking and conducted a workshop on different types of questions.

The purpose of the seminar – to
develop expertise in

Participants of the seminar-training were teacher trainers from
17 branches of National Center for Professional
Development “Orleu” as well as methodists, deputy directors and schoolteachers, who integrate multilingual education in professional practice. Total number of participants – 30.
During the 5-day training workshop, participants have gained a holistic understanding of the methodology of content and language integrated learning, its forms and methods of application, new knowledge to support students in mastering subject content and developing language skills.
By the end of the training seminar a meeting was held between representatives of the OSCE and the First Deputy Chairman of JSC "NCPD "Orleu Mr. Karayev and Deputy Chairman of JSC "NCPD "Orleu" Mr. Baidurin, objectives of further cooperation were discussed.

On 16th of April a meeting was held between members of the Board of JSC “National Center for Professional Development “Orleu” and representatives from Griffith University, Regional manager Anthony Bradley and International Education consultant Veronika Kustenko.
JSC “National Center for Professional Development “Orleu” and Griffith University worked together to organize and deliver professional development courses for Orleu teaching staff in Australia in the framework of the Memorandum of understanding signed in 2013.

educational environment of two countries and continuous professional
development of rural teachers. Educational practices implemented in multi-level
class schools in Australia are of high interest for the Republic of Kazakhstan
due to similar demographic situation.

August 25, 2014 – The project “E-learning for Teachers of English”
The project is aimed to assist teachers with learning of new skills and
building knowledge of the application of electronic resources in their practice
using the resources provided by the British Council in Kazakhstan. The
resources are designed to equip students with speaking, reading, writing and
In the course of the project the project team has researched, analyzed
and selected necessary electronic resources in accordance with curriculum,
developed by the National Academy of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan
for learners of English from Grade 1 to 11.
A textbook based on the project was released containing a program, instructions
with links to online resources and recommendations for registration on the
website and the use of the resources in the classroom (Digital Resources for
Learners of 1-11 Grades).
